Hawaiian Roll

Cameron's at pre-school in underwear. She is doing so well with potty training that I figured I should send her in without a pull-up. I went to the gym the other day And while I was working out they called me into the childcare room. I was a bit nervous what they needed me for, maybe Cameron was throwing a big fit or got hurt, But It turned out she had gone to the potty all by herself and needed help getting her pants up, which they don't do there in child care at the gym. So it was good news after all. So Cameron is at pre-school right now and me and Rowan went out to sushi, yum. Rowan likes miso soup, and lemons. I think I will put the rest of my free time to good use now, since I have a long list of stuff to be done before I leave.

The first day of the rest of my life

So I disconnected my cable and I went to the gym today, two things that are good things. Cameron might miss her cartoons a bit though. I usually let her watch a few cartoon throughout the day when I need her to keep quiet or give me a little space. No more backyardigans, or wonder pets, not even the mickey mouse club house. And the movie picken's are a bit slim nowadays ever since we drove to California back in December. While on our trip Cameron seems to have lost almost all of her movies. I don't think she threw them out the window, so all I can think is that she slid them into the window compartment of the door. I'm not sure I will bring the DVD player on our trip this time, but then again what does that matter when she has no more movies to watch anyhow. All I can think about is how much money Disney movies cost now days. And by the way Cameron is still going potty on the toilet. I'm still not brave enough to go out and about without the diaper or pull up on yet. But I believe it is in the near future for her.

Pondering Potty, Preparation, and Packing

So Cameron seems to be making some fairly serious progress towards potty training. two days ago she was naked and had to go poop so she let me know, then went on the potty. I was pretty happy about that. So I had decided to let her be naked since then, and sure enough almost every time since then she has gone in the potty. So then I tried putting her in underwear and soon after she went pee in them, So my guess is she has just gotten used to the feeling of having something on her behind that she goes potty in. So for now she can just be naked until she gets used to going on the potty and can then move into underwear. She seems to be getting more excited about Potty training the more she does it. This is a great change, let's hope she keeps it up.

As for my traveling plans I have a ride to the airport now, so that's one less stress. I have started my travel list. It starts with all the things I need to prepare to leave and a packing list of things I don't want to forget to bring. my list is getting pretty long. I suppose that's the way it goes when you have children. I was just getting used to my daily load lightening a bit until Rowan came along , So once again I'm back to many diapers, creams, sippy cups, and don't forget the change of clothes. But I guess you could say it's been a welcomed load.

In honor of our earth

Check out earth911 and sign up for weekly green tips, it's really cool. Did anyone do anything special for earth day? I just decided it was past time to get a recycle can, I feel like I should have done that a long time ago. Here is my weekly tip from earth911:

Eighty percent of plastic water bottles go to waste in landfills. That equals 1.2 million barrels of oil thrown away every year. Recycled plastic bottles turn into carpet, jacket lining or even new bottles. Think of that the next time you're at the pump.

A little bit of everything

Last week We had a birthday party, two playgroups, two spring party's and one day of pre-school for Cameron. So it's been busy but fun. One of the party's we went to was a spring party for Nicks troop. I usually try and go to all the troop events so that I can meet other wife's. And it turns out a friend that I made while there lives only a couple blocks away. So now I have a new walking partner. I have been walking quite regularly lately. I guess you could say I have decided that I really need to get down to the business of getting in better shape. I am doing very well so far. I have actually lost 10 pounds in the last month, hooray for me!! Well on another subject I am leaving on the 30th of April (my sister Jill's birthday) for Oregon to spend most the month there, with a little detour into Idaho to see my great friends. I cant wait to see Elisabeth and Providence and the new house of course, as well as Aaron, Kelsey, and there girls, one of which I haven't even met yet. On the down side I haven't found a ride to the airport here in Texas yet and If I put my car in long term parking it is going to cost me over two hundred dollars, so I thought I would just take a shuttle and it turns out a shuttle for all three of us girls will cost around two hundred and eighty. Sheesh!! darn gas prices. So my best bet is just to ask someone for a ride and pay them some gas money. So I hope I can find a ride soon. Oh and you don't even want to know about all the stuff I am going to have to lug to the airport by myself....well I'll tell you anyhow...Two huge car seats, one stroller, two carry-on's, I am going to try and keep our luggage down to one large bag (we'll see about that though) as well as two kids. I tell ya this parenting thing was really meant to be a two person job. Well I am pretty excited for all my travel plans. I think it will also break up some of my waiting time for Nick. Which is nice. So this is my crazy life that always has a way of working it's self out for the time being.

I'm a dork

With all this writing I am doing lately, I am starting to get better at my spelling skills. I'm not such a bad speller it's mostly just my punctuation. It's a little dorky I know, but every time I hit the spell check and I see only one or no highlighted words I get all excited. I guess you could call blogging educational in some way. Okay let's give the spell check a try then......hooray no misspellings found!!

Just a little note

Cameron loves writing or drawing letters about as much as she loves getting letters. We are trying to be better about sending friends and family letters this year. Simple is offering readers a chance to win some very fun children's stationary from Mudpuppy. So If we win, you just might be getting some pretty fancy letter/drawings from Cameron.

Rowan's first teeth

Rowan Finally cut two teeth. I just noticed it yesterday. It was the two middle front ones. Rowan's seem to be coming in a bit more even than Cameron's did. Cameron's came in all over the place. First Cameron got one bottom tooth, then it was on the top to the side. I thought her snaggly teeth were pretty cute actually. Cameron also used to get a fever all day the day before she would cut a tooth. Rowan didn't have a fever the day before, but she had a fever a month and a half or two ago, which I am guessing was teething related, although she may have just been fighting something off. Congrats to Rowan on her first teeth!!!

Oh, the places you'll go

Rowan is getting really good at standing up on things. I suspect she will probably walk before Cameron did, but her hair is sure growing much slower than Cams did

I put them in matching outfits the other day. It is really fun to dress them up together. Also Cameron has just learned how fun it is to make silly faces at the camera

Rowan recently learned to open the cabinet and pull out all the dvd's, she very curious. The dress she's wearing is soooo cute to.

Cam likes to tell me "I'm not tired" It's just much more fun to sleep on a stair, when your three, especially when it fits your body perfectly.

Sisterly love

Cameron and Rowan are really starting to enjoy each other a bit more now that Rowan is getting older. I at times am a little surprised at how sweet Cameron is to Rowan. Before Rowan was born I even thought Cameron might get a little jealous, because she had myself and Nick all to herself for the last two and a half years, and her personality just seemed that it might be so. Cameron wants to hold Rowan in her lap and gives her a little shhh shhh shhh to calm her if she's upset and of course she has to let everyone know that Rowan is "her baby" if they get to close. It's so sweet to see Cameron and Rowan together and watch there sisterly love grow each day. Rowan is mobile and quite curious now days as well, so I am also seeing the beginnings of sisterly annoyances, as Rowan tries to swipe one of the blocks off of the bridge Cameron has so meticulously constructed, nevertheless what a blessing it is to have a sister!

Rowan Likes

Rowan Likes to:

Scoot or do the Army crawl on the floor

Pull herself up on her feet holding onto the futon

Eat solid food, specifically Rice puffs, pizza crust and biter biscuits. (No jars of baby food, she wont have it!!)

Screech like she's in pain when she wants your attention, or she see's you eating food.

Sit up all by herself with one hand still on the floor to balance.

Smack her lips together to make a new noise.

Smile, she loves to smile at you. All you have to do is catch her attention across the room and give her a smile and she will give you a huge smile back.

Take baths. She just loves the water.

And lastly she loves to Nurse of course
